SITEPLAYER – IT’S YOUR WORLD, DISCOVER IT

Bill developed an automated embroidering machine, the AEM-2020, which was especially popular with sports uniform companies. Though his customers were satisfied, they did express a desire for what they called a friendly PC type interface. They said the small LCD display was a bit cryptic and cumbersome, which gave rise to mistakes that wasted time and material. Writing the code for the LCD had been pain enough, but researching possible new interfaces had really “hurt his head.” He knew there had to be a better way, he just didn’t know about SitePlayer™ yet.

The conventional PC approach would require him to write new software in languages he didn’t want to learn. Beyond that, he would have to incorporate some way for his AEM-2020 to talk to the PC. Serial communication was easy enough for him, but why not use his clients’ existing Ethernet wiring? Then he could control multiple machines from the same computer interface and maybe even run them cooperatively! Now he could see the dollar signs.

Bill looked at his options -- Bill got frustrated (you want to avoid him when he’s like that). Some options required him to port his program to another microprocessor. Others demanded that he learn and splice their foreign code and conventions into his chip, thus taking away valuable memory and MIPs from the AEM-2020. Figuring out TCP/IP was worse than he imagined, and he still faced the software development, debugging, installation, and compatibility problems of the PC interface. Yeah, it really “hurt his head.”

Then Bill discovered a better way: SitePlayer – Bill got happy (it’s very contagious when he’s like that). He used his same familiar microprocessor and programming environment to move the chip communications over from the LCD to the SitePlayer web coprocessor. He had his teenage daughter whip up some web pages that not only included the list of SiteObjects™ he handed her, but also colorful pictures of each embroidered design. He connected it to his home network for testing, typed in the IP address, and had a new friendly and beautiful interface that cost less than his old LCD based panel.

Wow, SitePlayer was such a smart and enterprising move, it felt a little like cheating to get out of all those headaches so easily. Bill’s clients were eager to invest in the new AEM-2021. Everyone, even Bill, was surprised that upgrading the old machines also turned out to be so fast and easy. As a bonus, he reaped the benefit of one his client’s increased savings and productivity when it was time to purchase the new uniforms for his daughter’s soccer team. He was sure it would be their year for the championship, after all, he was the coach.

Create a new interface and web enable your device with SitePlayer; you won’t have to worry about learning a new programming language, proprietary protocols, or TCP/IP. Just do the job you’re accustomed to, SitePlayer does the rest.
